Resources
Everything on this site that helps an owner rather than sells to one, ordered by when it becomes useful: before anything happens, in the first hours after it does, and while a claim is being argued. Includes the Free Insurance Awareness Booklet and the tools that read off the posted rate card.
This page is ordered by timing rather than by format
The collection here mixes guides, calculators, definitions and a printed booklet, and it is ordered by the moment each becomes useful rather than by what kind of thing it is. That is deliberate, because the failure mode of a resources page is a reader browsing a library when they needed one specific document twenty minutes ago.
Three moments. Before anything has happened, which is when maintenance cycles and membrane choices matter and when nobody is motivated to read them. In the hours immediately after an incident, which is when documentation is worth more than understanding. And while a claim is being argued, which is when vocabulary and estimate reading do the work. Find your moment first and read only that group.
The one group whose value expires within hours
Documentation is the perishable resource on this page. Photographs of a vehicle where it stopped, taken before anything was moved or touched, cannot be recreated later at any effort. A description of the noise at the moment of impact is most accurate in the first day and becomes reconstruction after that. Both are the cheapest useful information in a repair and both are gone if the moment passes.
So if something has just happened, read that group and nothing else. The vocabulary can wait. The arithmetic can wait. Understanding how a carrier reviews a supplement can definitely wait, because that conversation is a week away and the photographs are a matter of minutes.
The Free Insurance Awareness Booklet, and what is in it
The Free Insurance Awareness Booklet collects the claim mechanics material into something that can be printed and kept in a coach, which is the point: a document that lives in the vehicle is available in the situation it was written for, and a bookmark on a phone with no signal is not. It covers what happens in the first forty eight hours, how a supplement works, who chooses the repair facility in California, and what a deductible actually attaches to.
It is not a substitute for a policy and it does not interpret yours. A booklet cannot tell you what your carrier covers, and the single most useful thing an owner can do before an incident is read their own declarations page once with the vocabulary from this site to hand. The booklet exists to make that reading comprehensible rather than to replace it.
Which of these come from this shop and which do not
Almost everything collected here was written by this shop, which makes it interested material and worth reading as such. The rate card, the band table, the day axis and the guides are all first party. Where a resource is external it is labelled, and the two categories that matter most are external on purpose: the Bureau of Automotive Repair, where a California consumer can verify a licence and raise a complaint independently, and the carriers themselves, who are the only source for what your policy covers.
That split is the useful part of this page. A shop can tell you how a repair sequence works and what its own rates are, and it is the wrong source for what your policy says and the wrong source for judging its own licensure. Both of those have public arbiters, both are linked, and neither answer should be taken from us.
The test every item here had to pass
Nothing appears on this page because it fills a gap in a menu. Each item had to answer a question an owner actually asks, in a form they can act on the same day, without needing to call first. That test removed a lot of material that would have padded the page nicely: general RV maintenance checklists, seasonal tip roundups and buying advice for vehicles this shop does not repair.
The external references are held to a stricter version of the same test, because linking outward moves a reader off a page this shop controls. They are here where an outside source genuinely answers something better than we can, most often a state licensing lookup or a regulator, and they are not here to signal thoroughness.
